The art of Sharyl Landis flows with artistic vision from creative passion. Exquisitely whimsical, joyously vibrant… a true reflection of an artist in love with creating intricate designs using vivid crystalline beads that shimmer with beauty.
Her mother, an artist, inspired and nurtured Sharyl's artistic passions. She always encouraged her to be creative and do her own thing. Sharyl loves using her hands to transform objects into unique designs through the blending of colors, shapes and textures. Since 1997, beading has been her primary form of expression. In the past few years, Sharyl has expanded into hand dyed textiles, quilting and most recently using the beaded object as a 3-D addition to paintings. She also has developed a secret process involving fur balls, courtesy of her cat Solomon.
Sharyl had entries featured 3 years in the juried Fiberworks show in Oklahoma City. She has also displayed her creations at Philbrook's annual Festival of Trees for the past 13 years. One of her first donations was made from painted turkey neck bones. Many of her works have benefited various charitable organizations in the Tulsa Community.
